Javier Núñez
About me
Between February and June 2024, Javier completed his Master’s thesis at the Vigo Quantum Communication Center (VQCC), working with the Quantum Communication Theory Group under the supervision of Marcos Curty and Guillermo Currás-Lorenzo. His research focused on the numerical security analysis of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) protocols under partial source characterization, particularly assessing the security of Prepare-and-Measure and Measurement-Device-Independent QKD protocols when the quantum states generated by the source are not perfectly characterized.
After completing his Master’s degree, he joined ID Quantique and the University of Geneva in September 2024 as an industrial PhD researcher within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie QuNEST doctoral network. His current research focuses on the experimental development of QKD systems and their integration into optical telecommunication networks, particularly their coexistence with classical WDM traffic.
