Giorgia Mazzaro
Quantum Communication Theory Group
Giorgia Mazzaro earned her Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics in 2023 and her Master’s degree in Quantum Engineering in 2025 from Politecnico di Torino, as part of the university’s first graduating class in the field. During her studies, she was also selected for the “Intraprendenti” excellence track.
Her technical experience includes work on FBG optical sensors at the Photonext Center and a post-graduate internship at a leading Italian R&D firm, focusing on lattice-based cryptography and Fully Homomorphic Encryption. A founding member of the QubiTO student team and a contributor to BeQuantum community, she also competed in the 2024 and 2025 quantum hackathons at ETH Zurich.
In 2026, Giorgia joined the Vigo Quantum Communication Center as a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Marcos Curty. Her research focuses on the implementation security of quantum communication protocols.
