Alicia de la Varga Cabero
Quantum Communication Theory Group
About me
Alicia de la Varga obtained a Double Degree in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Oviedo. During her studies, she worked on topics from both fields, including topological groups and statistical field theory.
She later completed the Master’s Degree in Quantum Information Science and Technology (MQIST). During her Master’s studies, she carried out an internship at the Centre for Research and Innovation in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CINN-CSIC), where she gained experience working in a research environment. She subsequently conducted her Master’s thesis at the same centre, focusing on Raman sideband cooling of trapped atoms. Her work combined a theoretical study of the cooling process, the design of an experimental implementation, and numerical simulations aimed at understanding the dynamics of the system and the factors affecting its cooling performance. She is currently pursuing her PhD at VQCC
