Antía Lamas-Linares
Satellite Quantum Hub
Antia is a graduate in physics from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, she received a MSc in Applied Optics from Imperial College London and her PhD from the University of Oxford. After her PhD she did a postdoc at the University of California Santa Barbara before establishing her own quantum optics group at the National University of Singapore. While in Singapore she helped launch and was founding PI of the Centre for Quantum Technologies, where she ran an experimental quantum optics research group focused on photonic implementations of quantum protocols. Since 2010 she has worked in the US, first at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and then at the Texas Advanced Computing Center. In 2019 she joined SpeQtral, a Singaporean startup focused on satellite-based quantum communications, Chief Quantum Scientist. Since 2021, she is a principal quantum scientist at Amazon Web Services. Antia’s research interests include quantum communication protocols such as quantum key distribution, security flaws in realistic systems, satellite quantum technology and applications in quantum sensing such as quantum time transfer.
