Guillermo Eiroa
Guillermo Eiroa Blanco is a Master’s student in Applied Physics at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He holds a Bachelor ‘s degree in Physics from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC).
In 2025, Guillermo Eiroa Blanco served as a Research Intern at VQCC. Collaborating with researchers Margarida Pereira and Fadri Grünenfelder, Guillermo contributed to the development of a new lab course for bachelor’s and master’s students. His work focused on the field of Quantum Random Number Generators, conducting a thorough review of the existing literature to design an experiment that integrates both theoretical and practical components.
From February to July 2026, he completed his Bachelor’s Thesis in collaboration with the Quantum Communication Theory Group, supervised by Margarida Pereira. His research focused on the impact of side-channel characterization on the performance of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). Using numerical simulations, he investigated how a comprehensive system description affects protocol efficiency.
