The VQCC at the
“Galician Night of Researchers”.
VQCC researchers (Davide Rusca, Alessandro Marcomini,Vaisakh Mannalath, Ana Blázquez, and Lukas Tiefenthaler) took part in the“European Researchers’ Night”, known locally as the“Galician Night of Researchers”, held on September 27, 2024, in Vigo, Spain. This event, focused on outreach and bringing research closer to the public, provided an excellent platform for our researchers to disseminate their work and engage with the broader community. As part of the *Scientific Fair*, organized by the University of Vigo and open to the general public free of charge, they presented an interactive exhibition showcasing the fascinating properties of light.
The exhibition was titled *”Information Flies at the Speed of Light”* and highlighted the vital role that light plays in modern communication, enabling data transmission over vast distances. Through hands-on experiments and engaging demonstrations, the VQCC members facilitated a deeper understanding of the scientific principles behind light, making complex research accessible to lay people. This outreach effort not only highlighted the practical applications of their research but also helped to foster curiosity and increase public awareness of the impact of scientific advancements on everyday life.
