VQCC Team Inspires Vigo
Students with Hands-On Quantum Experiments

On May 7th, Ainhoa Agulleiro, Martín Álvarez, and Álvaro Magdalena participated in an educational session for students at “Colegio Maristas – El Pilar” in Vigo, Spain.

More than 50 students attended an introductory presentation covering the basic principles of light and quantum mechanics, starting from everyday phenomena and progressing to cutting-edge developments in quantum technologies such as secure quantum communication and quantum cryptography.

After the talk, students took part in a hands-on session where they actively engaged in real experimental work. They performed measurements and directly handled laboratory equipment similar to that used in professional research settings. Each member of the VQCC team presented a different experiment, demonstrating topics such as light interference, methods for encoding and transmitting optical signals, and the functioning of an optical circuit.

The students responded with great enthusiasm, asking thoughtful questions and showing strong interest, especially due to the interactive, practical format of the activity.
