Marco Avesani
visits the VQCC

04/03/2024

Marco Avesani, from the University of Padova and the company ThinkQuantum, visited the VQCC the week of February 19, 2024.

He received a MSc degree in physics and a PhD in information engineering from the University of Padova, Italy, in 2015 and 2020, respectively. Currently he is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the QuantumFuture group at this University, and is also one of the co-founders of ThinkQuantum, a spin-off company that commercializes quantum-based technology solutions for cyber security and communication systems. His research interests lie in quantum information from both the theoretical and experimental point of view, with special emphasis on quantum communication and quantum randomness generation, particularly quantum key distribution in fiber and free-space and semi-device-independent quantum random number generators.

During his visit to the VQCC, Marco Avesani gave a talk about recent quantum communication activities at the University of Padova.
