VQCC at the PTQCI
Workshop on Quantum Communications Networks

29/02/2024

The VQCC participated in the “Quantum Communication Networks Workshop” organised by the Portuguese Quantum Communication Infrastructure (PTQCI) project, which took place at the University of Aveiro from February 26th to 28th, 2024.

The PTQCI consortium’s primary goal is to develop and implement a quantum communications infrastructure in Portugal as part of the European Quantum Communications Network (EuroQCI) initiative—a European endeavour aimed at establishing quantum-secure communications across the continent in the coming years.

The workshop provided an opportunity for gathering prominent figures from the quantum technology sector, facilitating dialogue and knowledge sharing crucial for advancing the development of the future quantum communications network. The presentations focused on the PTQCI project, complemented by perspectives from the various international quantum networks including those in Spain, Austria, and the USA, which involve governmental entities, industry leaders, and academic institutions.

During the workshop, Davide Rusca and Margarida Pereira delivered invited talks on “Fast quantum key distribution with implementation security” and “Security of quantum key distribution with pulse correlations,” respectively.
