The VQCC at the QKD
Summer School in Les Diablerets.

The VQCC attended the QKD summer school organized by the Quantum Information Theory Group from ETH Zürich that took place at the SwissMAP Research Station in Les Diablerets between the 18th and 23rd of August, 2024. At this event, three of our PhD students, Ana Blázquez, Álvaro Magdalena and Ainhoa Agulleiro, were able to learn about both theoretical and experimental aspects of quantum cryptography by the hand of renowned researchers in the field, namely, Ueli Maurer (ETH Zürich), Norbert Lütkenhaus (University of Waterloo), Renato Renner (ETH Zürich), Eleni Diamanti (Sorbonne Université, CNRS), Rotem Arnon-Friedman (Weizmann Institute of Science) and Thomas Jennewein (University of Waterloo). Additionally, they had the opportunity to participate in meaningful discussions about ongoing research during a poster session, which allowed the school’s attendees to showcase their individual research projects.

We extend our gratitude to the organizers and speakers for the enlightening lectures and for providing a platform to interact with both emerging and well established researchers.
