The VQCC at the Expert Meeting
on Optical and Quantum Communications in Warsaw

17/10/2023

The VQCC participated in the QOT Expert Meeting on Optical and Quantum Communications organised by the Centre of New Technologies at the University of Warsaw (Poland), on October 9-11, 2023.

The meeting is meant to bring together communities working in quantum technologies and optical communication. The main objective is to explore whether quantum or quantum-inspired approaches can boost the performance of optical communication systems and contribute to their security, also in space communications scenarios. Moreover, one strength of the meeting is to look also beyond the orthodox strategies, such as quantum key distribution, and consider special regimes, such as extremely low-power communication. The workshop is meant to be rather small in order to provide ample space for discussions and facilitate free exchange of ideas. Altogether, it includes a breadth of perspectives, ranging from quantum physics to communication systems engineering.

At the meeting, Prof. Marcos Curty gave an invited talk on the topic of implementation security in quantum key distribution.
