Guillermo Currás-Lorenzo, postdoctoral researcher at the Vigo Quantum Communication Center, was invited to present his latest research at the 2025 Central European Quantum Information Processing (CEQIP) workshop, held at the historic Smolenice Castle in Slovakia from June 30 to July 3.
In his invited talk titled “Security of Quantum Key Distribution with Device Imperfections,” he shared the latest results on ensuring the security of quantum communication systems despite real-world hardware limitations. His presentation addressed one of the field’s most pressing challenges: proving that quantum key distribution remains secure even when implemented with imperfect sources and detectors.
