Sergei Alferov
visits the VQCC. 

Dr. Sergei Alferov visited the Vigo Quantum Communication Center from August 26 until September 20, 2024. During his stay, Sergei collaborated with the Quantum Hacking and Certification Lab, led by Vadim Makarov, and the Quantum Communication Technology Group, led by Hugo Zbinden, to conduct a research on hacking attacks against QKD systems based on the use of ultrasonics. 

Sergei received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the Chelyabinsk State University and Samara State University in Russia, respectively. He also conducted research at the University of Jena, Germany. He is an author of several patents (inventions) in quantum physics in Russia and is excited about quantum research.
