The Vigo Quantum Communication Center at the University of Vigo (Spain) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in experimental quantum communication. You will work in the laboratory of Quantum Communication Technology under the supervision of Prof. Hugo Zbinden and Dr. Davide Rusca. The project is aimed at modelling, characterizing and developing implementation secure communications prototypes. The Vigo Quantum Communication Center (VQCC) at the University of Vigo invites applications for an electronics engineer position. The successful candidate will work in close contact with the five scientific groups at the Centre to develop various digital and analogue electronic solutions for various applications in quantum communication and computation research. SELECTION CRITERIA REQUIRED • A university degree and work experience in electrical engineering or a related field. • Proficiency in designing, simulating, and testing both digital and analogue circuits. • Investigative skills and ability to de-bug and correct electronic circuits. • Good communication skills, including fluent oral and written English as well as the ability to write clear and concise engineering documentation. DESIRABLE • Proficiency in using PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle) and understanding PCB manufacturing processes, including communication with suppliers and cost optimization. • Skills in designing amplifiers, filters, ADCs/DACs, and other essential analogue components, including high-speed electronics (up to a few GHz). • Experience with circuit simulation software such as LTspice, PSPICE, or Multisim. • Expertise in optical communications, detection, emission and modulation electronics. • Experience with programming microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, PIC) and FPGA development using VHDL/Verilog. You will work in the new quantum computing lab under the supervision of Professor Alexander Lvovsky (https://quantech.group/).
