Gianluca Boso
visits the VQCC

On March 14, 2024, we received the visit of Gianluca Boso from the company ID Quantique SA, Switzerland, one of the pioneer companies in quantum communication. Gianluca is a System Architect at ID Quantique, being his work focused mainly on the development of quantum key distribution systems and single-photon detectors for a diverse range of applications from quantum physics, aerospace, to bio-sensing. Before joining ID Quantique in 2016, Gianluca was a Senior Researcher at the Group of Applied Physics at the University of Geneva.

During his visit to the VQCC, he presented how this company is empowering researchers to create the quantum photonic building blocks of the quantum internet, the ultra-fast and safe communication network of the future. IDQuantique is also part of the Quantum-Safe Internet project coordinated by the VQCC.
