Carlos Abellán
visits the VQCC.

On October 24, 2024, Carlos Abellán, CEO and co-founder of the company Quside, visited the VQCC to discuss possible collaborations on quantum communication and quantum random number generators (QRNG). During his visit, he gave a talk about the latest developments on QRNGs at Quside and was able to learn first-hand about the work carried out by the different VQCC research groups.

Carlos holds a PhD in photonics from the Institute of Photonic Sciences of Catalonia (ICFO), where he focused his research on the field of quantum technologies applied to cybersecurity and supercomputing. He has published several scientific papers in international journals and conferences, as well as being the inventor of several patents. His research has led to the creation of the spin-off Quside, which brings quantum technologies to the market. As a result of his research and entrepreneurship, he has been awarded several awards, including the MIT Innovators Under 35 Europe and the Pioneer Award granted by CERCA.
