VQCC team had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Noelia Martinez Rey, a Research Fellow and Group Leader at the Australian National University (ANU). Dr. Martinez Rey is an expert in adaptive optics and laser guide stars used for turbulence mitigation. Her extensive experience also includes work on telescopes designed for free-space quantum key distribution (QKD) links.

During her visit, Dr. Martinez Rey gave a compelling talk about the research being conducted at her department. She provided valuable insights and practical advice on enhancing the planning of our quantum optical ground station. The visit served as a platform to explore potential synergies between our teams and discuss avenues for future collaboration, particularly in the area of space-based quantum communication.
