QSNP Workshop in Padua, Italy.

The VQCC took part in the Quantum Secure Networks Partnership (QSNP) workshop held in Padova, Italy, on April 14–15, 2025. The event brought together researchers from across Europe to discuss progress, challenges, and future directions in the development of secure quantum communication networks.

As part of the meeting, Xoel Sixto and Álvaro Magdalena each contributed with a talk showcasing recent advancements from the VQCC. Xoel presented a new security proof that mitigates information leakage in decoy-state quantum key distribution (QKD), closing the gap between theory and implementation while Álvaro focused on the latest developments of the satellite group within the VQCC, highlighting efforts toward enabling long-distance quantum communications via space-based implementations.
